Mary Koch’s Adventure in Lionism began on October 22, 2004 when a Lion of the Ponca City
After 5 Lions encouraged me to join. I am fortunate to have 2 mentors on my trail of adventures in Lions that led me to become 3-NW District Governor for 2018-2019.
During the last 14 years, I have met many Lion friends over the state of Oklahoma who have become mentors and teachers as well. In 2016, I retired from Edwin Fair Community Mental Health Center and married Lion JD Koch.
Together we have 2 sons and 3 daughters. Many Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. In my 14 years as a Lion I have served as president of my club many times, on the Oklahoma Lions Boys Ranch Board for 6 years, participated on the OLBR Strategic Planning Discussion in March of 2010, served several times as Zone Chair and Regional Chair, served 6 years on the Dr. Eugene Briggs Memorial Scholarship Board and 2 of the years as Board President.
I participated in the Adult Speech contest in 2005-2006 and won both District 3-A and State on the topic “Passion to Excel”. I received District 3-A Hal Long Rookie of the year in 2005-2006 and District 3-A Lion of the Year in 2008-2009 as well as After 5 Lions Rookie of the year in 2004-2005 and became a Melvin Jones Fellow in 2009-2010.
This year will be an ADVENTURE for all Lions in 3-NW. It is my WISH that each Lion in the District travel with me on this ADVENTURE and make new Lion Friends all over the State of Oklahoma. KINDNESS ALWAYS MATTERS!
